Throughout the year, no doubt you and member colleagues embark on a variety of photo adventures. My letter is about something in the near future: Nature Photography Day, June 15. It’s celebrated on a Wednesday this year.
Nature Photography Day is a reminder about the power of photography to tell stories about the natural world, as well as to tend to Earth, our common home. As you well know, photographs are a way to stay connected with one another and the natural world.
The North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) launched Nature Photography Day in 2006, and over the years, people throughout the world have observed it.
NANPA encourages people everywhere to use a camera to explore the natural world that is close to them. Settings such as a backyard, garden, and other places can be sources of discovery and inspiration—and they can be steps away.
