Most of us are unaware of the hundreds of species of insects that inhabit our own backyards, or of their incredible diversity and intricate body structures. NIH Camera Club member Jim Turner will present his close-up photographs of insects found near his home in Silver Spring MD. All of these tiny creatures play an important role in the balance of nature by acting as pollinators, predators, decomposers, nutrient recyclers, and food sources for other animals.
