      Hi everyone,

Dale and I have been to McKee-Beshers Sunflower fields. The plants seem to be behind schedule. The sunflowers are just coming into full bloom with many immature plants and blooms. Here is Dales specific advice: “Go earlier to get a good parking near the field. Wear boots, long pants, long sleeve shirt, remember your bugs sprays. Have fun.”

This morning I went out to a MeetUp with Lori Lankford. It is quite beautiful there in the early morning. She was so generous with her time and had very thoughtful answers to questions posed by me and others. I saw many photographers with kit lenses, macro and super telephoto. So, it appears to be a photo op location for a range of shots. If you would like a broad view of the field Lori recommends bringing a step stool to stand just above the height of the sunflowers. She suggested backlighted shots, close-up partial flower views, and doing your macro shots in the shaded area.

**NOTE**Be careful in field #4 where there is an electric fence that produces a zing if accidentally touched.

      As Dale says “Have fun!
      Brenda

These messages have been very helpful. I wish we were in MD now so we could visit McKee-Beshers to photograph the sunflowers. However, we have done that in the past and I hope many of the rest of you will take advantage of them this year.
